Gordon College Women's Lacrosse traveled to Biddeford, Maine this afternoon to square up against the Nor'easters of the University of New England (UNE) where the Fighting Scots ultimately fell to UNE, 2-19 in the Conference contest.
Mikayla Lecci and
Kaitlyn Mini paced the Scots with one goal each.
The hosts were guided to victory by
Morgan White who booked six goals while chipping in a helper while
Abby McHallam added four goals in the mix.
How It Happened
- The Nor'easters immediately came out hot offensively, scoring six goals in a row in the first 11 and a half minutes of play before Gordon's Lecci snuck a goal in for the Scots with 1:32 remaining in the first (1-6) but UNE was able to tack on another tally before ending the first quarter, 7-1. In the second frame, the Nor'easters continued to fire, netting another six goals to make it 13-1 heading into the break.
- The Scots were able to hold their hosts to just three goals in the third before Mini found the back of the net in the fourth period after just 2:13 (2-16). However, UNE refused to let up, taking the eventual 19-2 win.
