Gordon College Baseball welcomed the Anna Maria College Amcats today to J. Tec White Field for a non-conference contest where the Fighting Scots walked it off in the bottom of the 11th inning to defeat the visitors, 12-11.

How It Happened

• An Andrew Hartman single brought home CJ Demers who got on base after ripping a double down the left field line to cut Anna Maria's lead in have (2-1) in the first.
• Anna Maria added two more in the top of the second, but the Fighting Scots answered back in the home half of the inning, scoring three times to lock it up at 4-all after two.
• The visitors held the 11-7 advantage heading into bottom of the ninth, but the four-run cushion was not enough to take the win. Ben Chase led off the frame with a double to start the rally for the blue and white. Then, after a hit by pitch and three straight walks, Shane Demers stepped up to the plate and ripped a double to tie it up at 11-11 to force extra innings.
• Reliever S. Demers held the Amcats scoreless in the 10th and 11th inning, allowing just one hit.
• In the bottom of the 11th with runners at second and third, Jacob Blake pulled a single down the left field line to score Dalton Cody to win it for the Scots, 12-11.

Beyond The Box Score

• Sophomore Jacob Blake made a game-saving diving grab at first base to keep the Amcats off the board in the 10th inning.
• Shane Demers booked his first career victory on the rubber after coming in, in relief.
• Next up for the Scots is a twin bill on Friday, April 28 as they host the Western New England Golden Bears for Senior Day.
