Opening the week with non-conference action, Gordon College Men's Tennis traveled down to Quincy, Massachusetts to face the Lions of Eastern Nazarene College where the Lions edged out the Fighting Scots, 5-4.
Ezekiel Hall and
Joshua Noel secured the lone victory in doubles competition as the No. 1 team doubled up their counterparts, 8-4.
With ENC carrying the 2-1 advantage into singles, Gordon nearly finished off the comeback, going into the tie break in three out of the six courts. The Fighting Scots picked up two out of the three tie break battles, as
Jeffrey Bodner came away with the (6-1, 1-6, 10-8) victory at the No. 2 slot and
Carleton Riester earned the win on the No. 4 court, 6-3, 2-6, 10-8. Additionally,
Lucas Barnes was also victorious in his No. 6 matchup with a score of 6-2, 6-4.
The Fighting Scots return to action Thursday, April 6 as they host the Nichols College Bison for a conference contest at 3:30 p.m.
