The Gordon College Fighting Scots Volleyball team came back from the weekend looking to extend their win total to six on the season as they hosted the Salem State University Viking on Kanas Court. The Fighting Scots came out on fire and the flame propelled the team to a 3 - 0 sweep against the Vikings.

How It Happened

• Both sides traded points early in the first, locking it up 7 - 7 until the Scots began to pull away as Annie Murphy and Teagan Brideweser sparked a 7 - 0 run to put the Scots up 10 - 21. The Scots went on to score the last four points and take the first set, 12 - 25. 
• The Vikings were able to score the first point of the second frame, but it was the Scots that took the win as they cruised to a 14 - 25 victory. 
• In the third Salem was able to spark a comeback as they were able to hold a 22 - 20 edge, before the blue and white buckled down to score the final four points to secure the sweep, 22 - 25. 

Beyond The Box Score

• All 13 Scots saw action in tonights match up against the Vikings. 
• Junior, Olivia Fleming set a career high of 19 assist in the match up. 
• The Fighting Scots are back in action this weekend as they host Wellesley and Maine Maritime in a tri-match on Saturday, September 16 at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., respectfully.
