On the second day of the Gordon College Invitational, Gordon College Volleyball defeated the Brewers of Vassar College by a score of 3-2 before falling to the MIT Engineers, 0-3.

Gordon vs. Vassar
  • After the Fighting Scots got on the board first thanks to a Vassar service error, Aba Asante orchestrated an eventual 8-0 advantage behind the service line, including a pair of aces. Gordon continued to maintain the upper hand as Annie Zimmerman sent home the final three points for the blue and white by way of a kill to take the 25-13 win.
  • Gordon went out on top, 7-4 in the second before the Brewers flipped the script to take an 11-7 edge. However, the home team went on a run of their own to regain the lead, 15-13. Both sides went point for point, but it was Gordon's Zimmerman who once again sealed the victory down the stretch with three straight kills to take a 2-0 lead (25-23).
  • In the third frame, Vassar came from behind to narrowly win, 25-23 to force a fourth set.
  • Not going away without a fight, the Brewers continued to claw their way back from every deficit to even it out at 2-2 (25-23).
  • The Scots and Brewers traded points, locking the score up nine different times before the home team slammed down a pair of kills off the hands of Joey Keltner and Annie Murphy to clinch the 15-12 win and overall 3-2 victory.
