The Gordon College Men's Soccer team hosted the Wentworth Leopards on the Quad as Homecoming was in full swing for the Fighting Scots today. The Scots held off the Leopards in a resilient and thrilling 2 - 1 win. 

How It Happened

• Gordon took the lead in the first three minutes as George Coogan IV ripped in a shot that rebounded to the feet of teammate Henry McElroy who was able to boot the ball into the back netting for a quick goal for the blue and white. 
• The Fighting Scots kept the lead to go into halftime with the upper hand (1 - 0).
• Wentworth ultimately evened out the score to 1 - 1 in the 62 minute of the match. 
• Cole Levis had the answer for Gordon College as a cross from Luke Lindas and Coogan IV eventually found Levis who was able to put the ball past the Leopard keeper to give the Scots a 2 - 1 lead.
• Gordon held on for the final eight minutes and as the horn sounded, the Fighting Scots secured the 2 - 1 victory. 

Beyond The Box Score

• Levis recorded his first goal of the 2023 season.
• Freshman, McElroy now has three goals on the year. 
• The Scots will be back in action as they take to the road as they travel to Milton, Mass. as they face Curry College on October 7 at 5:00 p.m.
