Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

WNE Stifle Scots With Second Half Surge

The Fighting Scots Men's Basketball team hosted the Western New England (WNE) Golden Bears on a Wednesday night contest to continue in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action. The Golden Bears pulled away in the second half for the 85-59 win.

Gordon College was led by Isaac Jarvis with 12 points, while all other starters (Bryce Smith, Justin Yu, Rob Shelansky, and Treyton Tebbs) notched seven points apiece.

For WNE, Tim Restall contributed 17 points and teammate Matt Houde tallied 14 points.

How It Happened
  • The blue and white struck first with just 58 seconds into the contest. Throughout the half, the Golden Bears attempted to pull away, but could never get a comfortable lead thanks to a team effort by Gordon who shot 56% from the field to go into half (40-33).
  • Shelansky drained a shot from behind the arc to make it an eight point game early in the second, but the Golden Bears continued to distance themselves and took the eventual conference win.
Beyond The Box Score
  • Sophomore, Rob Shelansky, went perfect from the field and charity stripe.
  • The Scots are on the road next as they compete against the Hartford Hawks on Saturday, January 20 at 3 p.m.
