Scots Ice Out Nor'easters To Sweep Season Series

Gordon College Men's Basketball welcomed the U. of New England (UNE) Nor'easters this afternoon in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action. The Fighting Scots held off the UNE comeback in the second half to sweep the season series with at 83-93 victory for the blue and white.

For the Fighting Scots, Bryce Smith led the way with 24 points, going 10-10 from the free throw line, and he was closely followed by Treyton Tebbs who notched 22 points.

To lead all scorer on the evening was UNE's Adrian Torres with 25 points, while teammate Jack Pyzynski tallied 17 points for the Nor'easters.

How It Happened
  • Gordon knocked in the first bucket of the game and quickly went on top, 9-2. The Nor'easters began to battle and closed the gap multiple times throughout the next eight minutes before Sean Quanico drained a shot from behind the arc to spark a 10-0 run. The Scots continued to take control and lead 51-36 at halftime.
  • As the second half began, the blue and white continued to hold a comfortable double digit lead by knocking down the freebies and cleaning up the boards. With a little over eight minutes remaining in action, the Nor'easters looked to make a comeback cutting it to a one possession game. The Fighting Scots regained momentum by aggressively attacking the paint and getting to the free throw line en route to the 10 victory.
