The Fighting Scots Men's Basketball team took to Kanas Court as they hosted the Colonels of Curry College in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action. The close knitted contest ended with a score of 66-67 in favor of the visiting Colonels.
To lead all scorers on the evening was sophomore,
Isaac Jarvis with 23 points, while
Justin Yu and
Treyton Tebbs both tacked on 10 points in the contest.
For Curry College,
Lowelle Torres tallied 17, while teammate
Mustafo Vanjov contributed 11 points.
How It Happened
- The Scots came out hot starting the game on a 10-0 run, but both teams went on a hiatus for four minutes before Curry was able to score (18-12) with eight minutes remaining in the half. Gordon converted two from downtown to go into half leading by three (32-29).
- Jarvis picked up where the Fighting Scots left off, scoring the first two opening buckets of the second half (36-29). However, at the 12:36 mark, Curry tied the scored 43-all before the Scots were able to reclaim the slim upper hand. Curry crept their way back into contention as they evened the score 60-all with 2:35 remaining but a shot from behind the arc allowed the Colonels to go on top and escape with the one point win.
Beyond The Box Score
- Rookie, Lucas Mouthaan recorded a career-high of nine rebounds.
- With 23 points, Isaac Jarvis has a new career-high in points.
- Gordon College is back in action on Saturday, January 13 at 2 pm as they travel into Boston, Mass. to compete against the Leopards of Wentworth.
