Murphy Reaches Career Milestone Against Rams

Gordon College Women's Volleyball opened their doors to the Suffolk University Rams for their conference game this morning. In a back and forth Conference of New England (CNE) contest, the Rams were able to came away with the 3-2 victory. 

How It Happened
  • Annie Murphy caught fire early hitting two kills for the first points of the game. Later in the set, Joey Keltner led the Fighting Scots on a five point run overcoming a 24-17 deficit bringing the game to 24-22. The Rams held on scoring the next point to take a 1-0 lead. 
  • The Scots dominated the next set with Annie Zimmerman slamming home five kills. Maria Clarabuch secured the 25-10 set victory with two consecutive kills. The game stood at a 1-1 tie heading into the third set.
  • The Scots made five blocks in a pressure filled third set. The "Annies" continued to hammer down kills. However, the Rams held for a 25-22 set win taking a 2-1 lead.
  • The Scots starting fast going up 7-2 in the fourth set. An eight point run gave the Scots a commanding 24-14 lead before Teagan Brideweser secured the 25-15 win (2-2).
  • The momentum continued as the Scots scored the first five points in the final set. However, the Rams battled back to edge the Fighting Scots, 15-13 for the overall win.
Beyond The Box Score
  • Annie Murphy recorded her 1,000 career kill today.
  • Annika Schmitt booked her seventh double-double today with her 25 assists and 10 digs.
  • The Scots return to Kanas Court on Wednesday, November 6 to host the Endicott College Gulls at 7 p.m.
