Brennan Sets Eyes On Third Straight National Championship Meet

WATCH LIVE VIDEO HERE | LIVE RESULTS

For the third straight year, Gordon College Women's Cross Country's Rachel Brennan has punched her ticket to the NCAA DIII Cross Country National Championship to represent the Fighting Scots. The gun sounds off to open up the meet tomorrow, November 23 at 11 a.m. in Terre Haute, Indiana.

Brennan outright secured her spot in the National Championship last weekend as the graduate student took the crown at the NCAA DIII Regional (East) thanks to completing the 6k race in 21:43.31.
In the past four years of racing at Regionals, Brennan has continually climbed the ladder, coming in 48th in 2021, 10th place in 2022, third in 2023, and first in 2024. Brennan has earned All-Region status for three straight season and was named the East Region Athlete of the Year by U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) earlier this week.

This season alone, Brennan was the first runner to cross the finish line in four meets while the other two meets she earned a top-seven placement. One of those meets was Pre Nationals which was ran on the same course as Brennan will compete tomorrow against the best in the Nation. On this course, Brennan recorded a time of 21:43.8 to come in seventh place out of just under 400 competitors.

Permanently etching her name in the Gordon history books, Brennan's time at this year's Pop Crowell of 21:17.4 marked a new personal record and in turn school record for the sensational student-athlete.

The four time Conference Runner of the Year, was the first women's cross country runner from Gordon to qualify for the National Championship twice and now extends that milestone to three.

Brennan will be the lone female representative of the Conference of New England (CNE) at this year's Nationals, while on the men's side Dylan Beggins from Roger Williams will be the lone male out of the CNE to run.

A live web stream of the championships will occur on NCAA.com beginning at 11 a.m. Eastern time until the conclusion of the awards ceremony.
