EARLY BIRD MEET RESULTS | BU MEET RESULTS
Gordon College Women's Indoor Track & Field traveled into Boston today to compete at the Early Bird Invitational at The TRACK at New Balance as well as BU Sharon Colyear-Danvile Season Opener.
By The Numbers (Early Bird Invitational at The TRACK at New Balance)
- Senior Amaris Goodwin stormed out of the gates hot, crossing the finish line in the 60m dash with a time of 7.88 to break a school record. Goodwin's time secured herself a fifth place finish out of 62 runners from all NCAA Divisions.
- In the 500m dash, newcomer Jenna Lindsay booked a time of 1:23.60 to place sixth.
- Breaking the second school record of opening day was Goodwin once again. The senior ran the 200m dash in 25.51 to place fourth overall out of 70 competitors across all divisions. Goodwin held the previous 200m school record last February with a time of 26.11. Additionally, teammate Elizabeth Gaskill ran an impressive sprint of 27.08 in the 200m to claim 17th place.
- Gaskill demolish her own school record also from last February in the long jump. The sophomore launched herself 5.05m to take sixth place overall but first among DIII opponents. Anissa Lewis also performed well in her debut with a jump of 4.84m to take 12th overall and third in DIII.
By The Numbers (BU Sharon Colyear-Danvile Season Opener)
- Alivia Geraghty impressed in her sophomore opener, coming in sixth place in the weight throw with a mark of 14.80m. That toss broke the school record, a record in which Geraghty set this past February (14.50m).
- After competing in the NCAA DIII Cross Country National Championship two weeks ago, Rachel Brennan entered the track this evening and continued to dominate, breaking the 5000m record (her own record) crossing the finish line at the 16:53.00 mark, improving the school record by nearly 30 seconds. Last February, Brennan set the school record in that category thanks to a time of 17:14.95.
Gordon returns to action on Saturday, January 24 again at The TRACK at New Balance for the Collegiate Showdown.
