The Gordon College Men's Basketball team took to Kanas Court as they honored senior Justin Yu and welcomed the Leopards of Wentworth in a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) contest. The Scots strong first half was overcome by the Leopards, who came out on top 59-76.
For the blue and white, Bryce Smith dropped 16 points, while Isaac Jarvis contributed 14 points and nine boards, and Yu tacked on 11 points.
To led all scorers on the day was Wentworth's Tyler Stewart with 28 points and 15 rebounds, while teammate Jack Connell chipped in 15 points.
How It Happened
- The Fighting Scots came out hot going on a seven point run around the 16:22 mark, and continued to maintain the gap as the squad shot over 55% from the floor and perfect from the free throw line in the half as they led 38-31 going into the break.
- As the second half began, Wentworth started to crawl back into the game as they converted off of turnovers and points in the paint. The inside play of the Leopards deemed too much for the Scots to handle, as the script flipped in the second half.
