Eagles Clip Scots In Twelfth Inning Walk-Off

Gordon College Baseball squared off against the Husson University Eagles at Northeast Regional Park (NERP) today and after the Eagles tied up the score in the bottom of the eighth, both squads play until the twelfth, where the Eagles took the 6-5 win.

How It Happened
  • The Scots drew first blood in the top half of the first thanks to an Alex Razzaboni single to right field. In the next inning, with two down, the Scots loaded up the bases with junior CJ Demers up to bat. The junior belted his first homer of the season over the left field fence to put Gordon on top 5-0.
  • Starting pitcher Brett Moore kept the Eagles' bats quiet, allowing just one run in three and a third innings of work, allowing just two hits while striking down three.
  • With runner in scoring position for Husson in the bottom of the seventh, center fielder Dalton Cody made a diving catch in right center to preserve the four run lead for Gordon.
  • Husson's eighth batter laced a double down the right field line as part of a four run inning, to tie the score 5-all.
  • After three and a half of scoreless innings for both sides, Husson broke threw in the bottom of the twelfth with a single up the middle sending the runner from second home for the walk-off.
Beyond The Box Score
  • CJ Demers recorded his first grand slam of his career.
  • Freshman, Alex Razzaboni, collected his first two hit game of his young career.
  • James Coats booked his first collegiate hit.
  • The Fighting Scots have an off day tomorrow before taking on Penn. State-Abington on Monday, March 4 at 3:45 p.m. once again at NERP.
