How It Happened
- The Golden Bears came out hot scoring the first goal within two minutes of play, but the Fighting Scots answered right back as Buccella found the back of the net evening out the field. WNE scored five goals before Fernandez looked to narrow the gap with a goal of his own before going into the second period, 6-2. The Golden Bears stretched their advantage at the break after an eight-goal second quarter (14-2).
- Coming out of the half, Gordon scored the only goals for both squads as they knocked in three shots in the third period cutting the deficit to 14-5.
- As the blue and white began putting pressure on the visiting team, the two went back and forth in scoring the final six goals of the game, but the Golden Bears took the victory.
