Gordon College Women's Lacrosse celebrated eight seniors in today's contest against the Western New England (WNE) Golden Bears as they resumed Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action. In a hard fought game, the Fighting Scots fell to the visitors, 20-5.
Gordon's
Lilia Bailey and
Kaitlyn Mini both notched two goals, as
Kayla Davidson had a game-tying six ground balls.Â
For WNE,
Mariella Biceglia tallied a game-high of six goals and one assist, while teammate,
Ally Ferraro scored three goals and assisted on four goals.Â
How It Happened
- To open up the first quarter of play, Caroline Piorkowski found Bailey, who knocked in the first goal for both squads. The Golden Bears answered back with four goals of their own, however the Scots found the next two goals before the quarter ended (4-3).
- WNE continued to score despite a strong defensive effort by the blue and white. Before the end of the period, Brooke Roberti registered a goal to keep the Scots within reach, 8-4.
- After the break, Mini tacked on one more goal for the Fighting Scots, as the Golden Bears took the win.Â

- Caroline Piorkowski has now recorded three games with three or more assists.Â
- Sophomore, Lilia Bailey booked a career-high of two goals.Â
