In a Saturday afternoon road game, Gordon College Men's Lacrosse traveled down Route 128 to take on the Curry College Colonels on their home turf where the Colonels bested the Fighting Scots, 17-4.
Gordon's
Ryan Arthur and
John Flemmi each registered one goal,
Nick Buccella added one goal and one assist, while
Marco Fernandez chipped in one assist. Face-off specialist
Aidan Walsh won 15 of 23 face-offs.
Curry's
Brody Salzell recorded five goals and four assists, while
Alex Ripa,
Mac Kline, and
Stephen Stackhouse each booked two goals.
How It Happened
- The Colonels opened up the first frame with three straight goals before Gordon got on the board to make it a 3-1 ball game after one quarter of play.
- Early in the second, Arthur found the back of the net thanks to a Bucella feed, putting Gordon within one (3-2). Curry added one more to their total to double up the Scots, 4-2 at the break.
- In the second half, Curry got in rhythm offensively with five goals in the third and eight in the fourth to pull away for the win.
