Gordon College Baseball returned to J. Tec White Field to square off against the Albertus Magnus College Falcons in non-conference action. It was a fast-paced game where the visitors survived a late comeback from the Fighting Scots, 5-4.

How It Happened

• Starting hurler Tyler Sprince and reliever Riley Stys teamed up to produce four scoreless innings before the Falcons were able to bring a run across in the top of the fifth.
• Gianni Mercurio was patient at the plate to take his base before swiftly advancing to second after a failed pick-off attempt. The sophomore eventually scored on a sacrifice fly from senior David Melendez to even up the scoreboard at 1-1.
• In the top of the seventh, the visiting team looked to stretch the score as they knocked in two runs (3-1), and then followed it up in the top of the ninth inning adding two more runs, 5-1.
• Looking to make a comeback, the Scots' Andrew Hartman sent the ball deep over the right field fence with two ducks on the pond cutting the deficit to one, however, the Falcons held on for the lead, 5-4. 

Beyond The Box Score

• Andrew Hartman has now extended his hit-streak to nine games. Additionally, the senior has recorded games with back-to-back home runs.
• The Fighting Scots take to the road as they are back in Commonwealth Coast Confererence action against Suffolk University in Boston on Tuesday, April 30 at 3:30 p.m.
