Gordon College Men's Tennis returned to Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action this afternoon on the road to battle the Nichols College Bison on Nichols' Robinson Tennis Courts where the Bison defeated the Fighting Scots, 8-1.
Opening up the afternoon in doubles action, Nichols scooped up wins in No. 3 and No. 2 singles to go on top, 2-0. It came down to the wire on the No. 1 court as
Ezekiel Hall and
Jeffrey Bodner were narrowly edged out by the top Bison pairing, 8-7 (8-6) to give the home team the 3-0 advantage heading into singles.Â
The Bison picked up a pair of wins in No. 4 action, followed by a victory on the second court to clinch the league win for Nichols. Then, in a gritty No. 6 fight,
James Wellborn came out on top for the blue and white with a 2-6, 6-3, 10-6 victory.

Next up for the Fighting Scots is another league contest on the road on Thursday, April 11 when they head to Bristol, R.I. to square off against the Roger Williams Hawks at 4 p.m.
