Gordon College Baseball welcomed the Emerson College Lions to J. Tec White Field this afternoon where the visitors pulled away in the sixth inning to claim the 8-2 win over the Fighting Scots.

How It Happened

• With one down, Andrew Hartman laced a double down the left field line to put himself in scoring position for the Scots in the home half of the first. Two batters later, rookie Alex Razzaboni sent one back up the middle to plate Hartman and put Gordon up, 1-0.
• The early combination of Jason Bellefeuille and Jacob Hitchcock kept the Lions off balance to preserve the one-run lead. However, Emerson was able to score one run in the fourth to knot it up at 1-1.
• Emerson put up a five-spot on the board in the top of the sixth to hold a 6-1 advantage before tacking on another in the eighth and ninth (8-1).
• In the bottom of the ninth, Dalton Cody earned himself a walk just before David Melendez roped a shot down the left field line to plate classmate Cody, but the Lions came out with the 8-2 win.

Beyond The Box Score

• With a double in the first inning, Andrew Hartman now extends his hit streak to 11 games.
• Alex Razzaboni booked his 20th RBI of his rookie campaign.
• Gordon returns to action on Saturday, May 4 to host the Curry College Colonels at 12 p.m. Prior to first pitch, Gordon will honor its five seniors.
