The Gordon College Fighting Scots hosted the United States Coast Guard Academy Bears (USGCA) in their season-opener this evening at the Brigham Athletic Complex. The Bears went up early and held on for the slim 1-0 win. 

How It Happened

• The Bears found the back of the net in the fifth minute as they squeezed in a shot past the Gordon keeper. The Fighting Scots responded with a shot of their own but was eventually blocked to keep the home team off the board. The first half ended with the Bears in the lead 1-0.
• Despite earning one more corner kick than the visitors, the blue and white were unable to convert as the Bears held on strong to escape with the narrow win.

• Gilbert Daru, Will Goodling, and Cortez Cardone each recorded their first collegiate starts tonight.
• The Fighting Scots return to the Brigham Athletic Complex tomorrow, August 31 at 5 p.m. to host William Patterson.
