Fireworks erupted at the Brigham Athletic Complex as the Gordon College Men's Soccer team took on the William Patterson Pioneers Saturday night. Despite Gordon's strong attack the Pioneers came away with a 3-2 win. 

How It Happened

• The Fighting Scots started slow offensively as they fired off two shots compared to the Pioneer's nine. The Scots' defense however locked down the Pioneers' attack not letting up any goals in the first half. The half concluded in a 0-0 stalemate. 
• Freshman Gilbert Daru jump started the Scots' offense scoring their first goal of the season seven minutes into the second half (1-0). Classmate Cortez Cardone assisted Daru on the goal. Senior Benji Wright joined in on the scoring parade, adding a goal of his own to widen the lead to 2-0.
• Just over a minute later the Pioneers quickly retaliated scoring a goal to make it 2-1. They went on to score two more goals on Gordon to narrowly escape with a win (3-2). 

Beyond The Box Score

• Freshman Gilbert Daru scored his first collegiate goal tonight.
• The Fighting Scots travel to Boston on Wednesday, September 4 to start a four game road stint.
