Heading over to Salem on Friday the 13th, Gordon College Field Hockey played on Alumni Field against their hosts, Salem State this evening. The home team found the back of the net three times en route to the 3-0 win.

How It Happened

• The Fighting Scots came out hot as the visitors earned four penalty corners to open up the first quarter, but were unable to convert. With 30 seconds left in the frame, the home team was able to get on the board, 1-0.
• Gordon's stingy defense kept the Vikings from adding to their tally in the second to keep a one score game at the break.
• Salem tacked on two goals in the third to extend their lead to 3-0 heading into the fourth.
• In the fourth, Gordon controlled the tempo for the entirety of the final 15 minutes of regulation, as they collected seven penalty corners and were able to get off a pair of shots, but Salem's last line of defense held on for the win.

• Gordon reached season-highs in corners, shots, and shots on goal this evening.
• On deck for the blue and white is another night time contest, but this time at home as they host Mount Holyoke on Tuesday, September 17 at 7 p.m. at the Brigham Athletic Complex.
