The Gordon College Men's Basketball team hosted the Roger Williams Hawks on Kanas Court Saturday afternoon. The Fighting Scots held their own against Roger the defending conference champions in the first half. However, Roger Williams held to took a 110-82 win over the Scots.
Alex Daniel netted 21 points while shooting 62% from the field for the Fighting Scots,
Bryce Smith scored 13 points, and
Sean Quanico scored 12 points and recorded six assists.
For the Hawks,
Mac Annus scored 28 points,
Philip Sughrue scored 16 points, while
Ty Higgins scored 15 points.
How It Happened
- The Scots started off the game strong maintaining a lead over the Hawks.  Ryan Brooks took the Scots up by nine points as he converted two foul shots. With a little over four minutes left in the first the Scots went on a scoring spree to putting them up by six. The Hawks responded and grabbed a narrow lead of 51-50 heading into the half. Alex Daniel lit the net on fire scoring 16 points in the first.
- The Hawks started the second half strong as they expanded their lead. The Scots fought to cut into their lead but the Hawks held  to grab the victory with a final score of 110-82.
Beyond The Box Score
- Alex Daniel hit a career high 21 points.
- Sean Quanico also hit a career high in assists with six.
- The Fighting Scots travel to Milton, Mass. to take on Curry College on Wednesday, January 22.Â
