WENHAM, Mass.- The Gordon College volleyball team notched an exhilarating 3-2 victory over Johnson & Wales Wednesday evening at the Bennett Center.
THE BASICS:

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Johnson & Wales edged Gordon 31-29 in a hard-fought opening frame to snag a 1-0 lead.
- The Fighting Scots clawed back to claim the second set 25-14 and knot the match at 1-1.
- The visitors regained a one-set advantage, 2-1, with a 25-22 victory in the third.
- Gordon answered with a 25-14 win in the fourth frame to force a winner-take-all fifth set.
- The home team clinched the 3-2 victory with a 15-6 decision in the final set.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Annie Zimmerman (Austin, Texas) posted a double-double on the night, finishing with a match-high 21 kills and 12 digs along with four aces.
- Haley Hutzler (Long Island, N.Y.) notched 13 kills to go with 11 digs.
- Maria Clarabuch (Sant Cugat Del Valles, Spain.) added nine kills while Teagan Brideweser (Warwick, N.Y.) chipped in with six kills.
- Annika Schmitt (Quincy, Mass.) tallied 44 assists, eight digs, and three aces.
- Amanda Pierce (Johnston, R.I..) paced Gordon with 18 digs and four service aces.
