WENHAM, Mass.- The Gordon College volleyball team suffered a 3-2 setback to league-leading Roger Williams Saturday afternoon at the Bennett Center.

The Gordon College volleyball team held its Senior Day ceremony after Saturday's match and recognized Maria Clarabuch, Evey Hansen, and Mia Serna.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Gordon captured a 1-0 advantage with a 25-17 win in the opening set.
• Roger Williams responded with a narrow 25-23 decision in the second frame to knot the match at 1-1.
• The Fighting Scots reclaimed a one-set lead, 2-1, with a 25-20 victory in the third.
• The Hawks rattled off four unanswered points to prevail 26-24 in the fourth set.
• Roger Williams triumphed 15-12 in the winner-take-all fifth frame to remain unbeaten in conference competition.

 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:

• Haley Hutzler (Long Island, N.Y.) tallied a team-high 18 kills to go with 17 digs.
• Annie Zimmerman (Austin, Texas) notched 15 kills and paced Gordon with 21 digs.
• Teagan Brideweser (Warwick, N.Y.) posted nine kills and six total blocks.
• Maria Clarabuch (Sant Cugat Del Valles, Spain.) added eight kills, 11 digs, and four aces.
• Annika Schmitt (Quincy, Mass.) dished out 41 assists while dealing five aces and collecting 16 digs.
• Amanda Pierce (Johnston, R.I..) registered 19 digs and Alexandra Burnett (Windham, N.H.) chipped in with 11 digs.
