WATERFORD, Conn.- The Gordon College women's cross country team posted an 18th-place finish at the Connecticut College Invitational Saturday. The field of 33 teams featured 16 nationally-ranked squads, including the top five in the latest USTFCCCA National Poll, and nearly 350 competitors.
Caroline Roberts (Wakefield, Mass.) led the Fighting Scots with a time of 23:56.9.
Abigail Roark (Hereford, Ariz.) clocked in with a mark of 24:50.7 while
Kaylee Bettez (Gardner, Mass.) crossed the finish line in 24:56.3. Rookies
Julie Anderson (East Haddam, Conn.),
Bethany Anderson (Methuen, Mass.), and
Jocelyn Zheng (Bethel Park, Pa.) all posted career-best times in the race.
"Our team is running well at the right time of the season, but I still believe our best racing is ahead of us," commented head coach
Mickey Miela. "Right now we're focusing on staying sharp as we enter into our championship season."
