WENHAM, Mass.- The Gordon College men's basketball team suffered a 74-68 setback to Anna Maria Saturday night at the Bennett Center to cap off the Gordon Classic.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Anna Maria seized a double-digit lead with 8:23 to go in the opening half, 24-13, on a three-pointer by Logan Talbot.
- Gordon strung together a 12-1 run and leveled the game at 25-25 with 3:28 remaining in the first frame on a free throw by Drew Brander (Chester, N.H.).
- The visitors clung to a narrow 32-29 advantage at the halftime break.
- The AMCats reclaimed a double-figure lead with 14:19 left to play as Joe Ingegneri banked in a layup, 45-35.
- Gordon captured a one-point edge, 57-56, as Drew Brander (Chester, N.H.) sank two free throws with 6:34 on the clock.
- Anna Maria outscored the hosts 18-11 down the stretch to pick up its first victory of the season.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Alex Daniel (Nolensville, Tenn.) scored a game-high 22 points while gathering six rebounds.
- Drew Brander (Chester, N.H.) finished with 12 points and five assists.
- Tristan Rodriguez (Braintree, Mass.) tallied a season-best 11 points off the bench.
- Willem Le Plastrier (Perth, Australia) added six points and 10 rebounds while Michael Nezaj (Armonk, N.Y.) paced the squad with 11 boards.
- Gordon shot 40.7% from the floor and 30% from beyond the arc on the night.
- Anna Maria posted a field-goal percentage of 44.1% while draining 8-of-18 from three-point distance.
- Lucas Miglionico paced the AMCats with 21 points while Logan Talbot notched 16 points and Joe Ingegneri added 11 points.
