WORCESTER, Mass.- The Gordon College men's basketball team dropped an 85-65 decision at Worcester State Tuesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Gordon seized a 21-14 lead with 10:51 remaining in the first half as Willem Le Plastrier (Perth, Australia) banked in a layup followed by a free throw.
• Worcester State responded with 13 unanswered points to grab a 27-21 advantage with 8:10 left in the opening frame.
• The Fighting Scots captured a 43-38 edge with less than a minute on the clock in the first period on a bucket by Alex Daniel (Nolensville, Tenn.).
• The Lancers chalked up a pair of layups in the final minute of the half to trim Gordon's lead to 43-42.
• Worcester State outscored the visitors 43-22 in the second stanza to prevail 85-65 and snap a six-game skid.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:

• Alex Daniel (Nolensville, Tenn.) poured in a game-best 20 points.
• Drew Brander (Chester, N.H.) tallied 18 points and five rebounds.
• Isaac Jarvis (Concord, N.H.) finished with eight points and seven boards.
• Gordon shot 45.8% from the floor and 4-for-11 from three-point range.
• Worcester State concluded the contest with a field-goal percentage of 44.2% to go with a 5-for-17 clip from long distance.
• Johnny Annan scored 16 points to lead the Lancers while Joe Okla notched 15 points and Ethan Daleba added 11 points off the bench.
