Taking the trip to the Ocean State today, Gordon College Men's Basketball played the Roger Williams University Hawks where the home team topped the Fighting Scots, 90-72.

For Gordon, Bernie McGuinness scored a team-high 17 points, Drew Brander went 5-7 from the field to net 10 points, while Isaac Jarvis grabbed nine rebounds.

Will MacDonald led the Hawks with 22 points, while Mac Annus added 20 points for the win.

How It Happened

• Midway through the first half, the Scots found themselves down by 20 (27-7), but the blue and white began to get into rhythm and chip away on the road. Brander hit a pair of jumpers which ignited Gordon's 23 points in the final 9:31 to make it just a 12-point game at halftime (42-30).
• McGuinness and Alex Daniel hit the first two buckets in the second half to cut RWU's advantage to single digits, but the home team was able to execute from three-point land to regain a comfortable edge. However, the Scots did not let up, coming back within nine midway through the half, but the Hawks continued to pull ahead to come out with the league win.

• Rookie Drew Brander nearly matched his career-high this afternoon after scoring ten points (11 points is his career-high).
