How It Happened
- The Cougars came out of the gates hot, rattling off three straight goals to go on top, 3-0 just five minutes after the opening draw. Mini answered back to put her squad on the board before Clark tacked on another (4-1). However, Mini was not done finding the back of the net two more times to bring the score to 5-3Â with 2:57 left in the quarter. With six seconds to go, Piorkowski made it a one-score game after a man-up goal by the senior (5-4).
- In the second, the home team started off with a pair of goals to widen the gap to 7-4, but Piorkowski knocked in her second of the half at the 9:56 mark (7-5). Scoring her fourth of the frame, Mini ripped in a pass from Piorkowski to once again make it a one-goal game at halftime.
- After the break, the Cougars continued to put pressure on the Scots' defense scoring five in the third and seven in the fourth to claim the win.
