Gordon College Baseball took the field today for the final time before playing in sunny Florida next week for a non-conference game against the Nichols College Bison where the Fighting Scots were topped, 13-6.

How It Happened

• With two down and one aboard in the top of the first, Tyler Wilson singled through the right side to bring teammate Jonathan McIntyre home for the game's first run. Next batter up, Jacob Blake belted a double to right field to plate Wilson and make it a two-run first inning for the Fighting Scots. In the bottom of inning, Nichols came right back to lock the scoreboard up at two-all.
• Nichols widened the gap to 8-2 after a six-run third inning. 
• Gordon produced four in the top of the fourth thanks to a trio of hits and smart base running (8-6).
• The Bison tacked on one more run in the home half of the fourth before putting up a four-spot in the fifth to solidify the non-league win.

Beyond The Box Score

• CJ Demers broke the program runs scored record after crossing the plate once today to total 100. The previous record was held by his brother and Head Coach Shane Demers (99).
• Tyler Wilson registered the first two-RBI game of the young season for the Scots.
• Gordon looks to Thursday, March 6 to face Berea (Ky.) at the RussMatt Tournament in Florida.
