Fighting Scots Cage Terriers For First Win Of The Season

Gordon College Men's Lacrosse traveled down to Georgia to play the Thomas College Terriers for a neutral site game. The Fighting Scots erupted in the first quarter and never looked back as they earned the 17-5 victory.

For the Scots, Jackson Wright led the effort with seven goals and four assists, Ryan Arthur added three goals and one assist, while Ryan Long chipped in three goals. Meanwhile, Aidan Walsh won 15 of 23 face-offs and grabbed nine ground balls.

Thomas' Wyatt Lyons scored twice, while Owen Lyons added one goal and one helper. 

How It Happened
  • The blue and white found the back of the net within the first three minutes of the opening quarter and continued to fire off shots, leading by seven after the first 15 min of action.
  • Gordon made it a 10-goal margin in the second before Thomas broke up the scoring spree to make it 10-2 at halftime. 
  • Both sides registered a goal in the third to maintain the eight-goal difference (11-8). 
  • The Scots once again opened up the next period with the initial goal to net six total in the frame as Thomas connected on the final two tallies of the game.
Beyond The Box Score
  • Interim Head Coach Randy Fraser booked his first win at the helm this afternoon.
  • This marks the first ever regular-season match-up between the two squads. 
  • Jackson Wright recorded a career-high seven goals in the win.
