MEET RESULTS
Gordon College Women's Track and Field took to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina to compete in the Myrtle Beach Collegiate Showdown for the first time in program history. The Fighting Scots made the most of their trip with multiple records broken and more PR's set over the past two days.
Friday
- Amaris Goodwin uprooted her program record in the 100m, replacing it with a time of 12.06 seconds. Goodwin's time qualified for finals on Saturday.
- Elizabeth Gaskill came in at thirteenth in the 100m with a time of 12.49 seconds. Additionally, Gaskill moved into second all time in the 100m.
- Alivia Geraghty demolished her own school record in the hammer throw as the sophomore recorded a distance of 49.28m to secure second place.
- Gaskill had the 19th best long jump of the weekend (5.03m). Teammate Anissa Lewis also had an impressive showing as the rookie set the fourth best long jump with a distance of 4.90m.
Saturday
- Kaylee Bettez landed in the top-10 in the 3000m run with a PR of 11:25.12.
- Carolyn Day also kicked off the day with a PR as the senior completed the 1500m run in just 4:53.06 to place ninth overall out of nearly 40 runners. Day's time moved her into second all time in the 1500m.Â
- Goodwin secured sixth in the 100m dash thanks to a run of 12.14.
- In the 200m dash Goodwin again rewrote history to break her second of the weekend as the sprinter bolted across the finish line at 24.99 for fifth place out of 100 competitors. Goodwin's record topped the previous record set back in 2017 by .42.
- Also in the 200m, Gaskill registered a time of 26.59 to place ahead of 70 fellow runners today. Gaskill's time also set her fourth all time in the event.Â
- Day continued to have a career meet as the senior's time of 2:25.54 in the 800m marked a fifth best time in program history.
- In the 400m, Jenna Lindsay orchestrated a time of 1:00.62 to come in the top-30 as well as third all time in the program.
- The Scots' 4x400m relay team (Lindsay, Goodwin, Gaskill, and Caroline Roberts) booked an eighth place finish after a time of 4:12.28. The quad's time elevated the crew to fourth all time in the program.
The Fighting Scots return to action to compete in their first outdoor meet in New England on Saturday, March 29 to compete at Tuft's Snowflake Invitational.
