How It Happened
- NEC opened up the contest with the first goal, but the home team answered right back to lock up the score at 1-1 midway through the first. The Pilgrims regrouped to net three straight before Piorkowski stopped the bleeding to cut the deficit in half going into the second quarter (4-2).

Both squads traded goals for two more scores before the Scots went on a 4-0 scoring spree to lead, 9-6 with 4:21 to go in the half. Not going away easily, the visitors netted the final two goals of the half to make it a one-goal game at the break.
- After the visitors recorded the first two tallies of the third, the blue and white went on a tear, ripping in four consecutive goals to go on top, 13-10 after three quarters of action.
- Gordon was in the driver's seat in the fourth and closed out the afternoon with back-to-back-to-back goals en route to the thrilling 16-12 victory.
