Gordon College Women's Lacrosse traveled into Boston tonight for a rescheduled game with the Emerson College Lions on Rotch Field where the home team used a strong third quarter to overpower the Fighting Scots', 19-12.
For the Scots,
Kaitlyn Mini led the effort with six goals and one helper,
Caroline Piorkowski added three goals and one assist,
Jocelyn Noyes chipped in two goals, while
Tillie Hutton scored one goal. Defensively,
Sophia Tomassoni had three ground balls and two caused turnovers.
Emerson'sÂ
Ava Selby recorded five goals and two assists, whileÂ
Grace Danehy dished out three assists and scored four times.
How It Happened
- Emerson went on top, 3-1 midway through the opening quarter, but the blue and white found the back of the net two times within a two minute span to lock up the scoreboard at 3-all. In the final five minutes, the Lions came out with the slight advantage (4-3) going into the second quarter.
- In the second, the Scots and Lions traded shots with neither side able to pull away. With 24 seconds left until halftime, Mini put Gordon out in front, 8-7, but the home team answered right back 17 seconds later to knot it up at 8-8 going into the break.
- The Lions came out roaring in the third quarter and continued to hold the upper hand in down the stretch to come away with the win.

- Kaitlyn Mini has scored six goals in two games so far this season.
- Gordon had their best offensive showing tonight with a season-best 12 goals.
- The Scots are back on action on Tuesday, March 11 as they once again head into Boston, but this time they will play the Simmons University Sharks at 7 p.m. on Daly Field.
