The Gordon College Fighting Scots' Baseball team hosted Anna Maria College Thursday afternoon for a non-conference game. The Scots got off to a strong start, but the Amcats came back late in the game. With the game tied and the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth, the Scots scored a walk-off run to win the game 6-5.

How It Happened

• Hunter Normandin put the Scots on the board first with an RBI single (1-0) in the first inning.
• The Amcats evened the score at 1-1 in the top of the second. In the bottom of the second, CJ Demers retook the lead with a single down the left side. Tyler Wilson then added another run with a single up the middle (3-1). 
• Wilson struck again in the fourth with an RBI single to bring the score to 4-1. The Scots scored another run on a passed ball.
• The Amcats evened the score again in the sixth inning at 5-5. The Scots defense held the Amcats at 5-5 to setup the offense in the bottom of the ninth.
• With the bases loaded in a tied game, the Amcats' threw a wild pitch that brought Demers across home for a walk-off 6-5 win.

Beyond The Box Score

• The Fighting Scots, led by first year head coach Shane Demers, won the most games since the 2018 season.
• Tyler Wilson had his fifth multiple RBI game of the season. 
• Kevin Whalen earned his first win of the season.
• The Fighting Scots host Western New England for a doubleheader on Friday, April 11.
