Gordon College Women's Lacrosse traveled up to Maine this afternoon to battle the University of New England (UNE) Nor'easters in league play. The game was interrupted by a lightning delay midway through the second period and the Nor'easters paced the game from there for the 18-8 win.
For Gordon,
Kaitlyn Mini had a team-high four goals,
Caroline Piorkowski had three assists and two goals, while
Jocelyn Noyes chipped in two goals.Â
UNE's
Morgan White netted four goals, while
Barrie Guertin and
Halle Huizenga each chipped in three goals.
How It Happened
- The Fighting Scots let up two quick UNE goals before holding their offense to nothing for the next 10 minutes. UNE added to their tally at the 3:36 mark, but Mini put the blue and white on the board to cut the deficit to two goals (3-1). However, the home team snuck in their fourth of the first to lead 4-1 after one.
- Gordon netted two straight goals after UNE drew first blood in the second, but the Nor'easters went on top, 7-3 at halftime.
- The Nor'easters had their best quarter in the third to seal the win over the Scots.Â

- Kaitlyn Mini surpassed the 50+ goal threshold today with four goal to hit 54 goals this year. Mini's 54 goals marks a career-high for the senior.
