Gordon College Baseball opened up J. Tec White Field to host the Bridgewater State Bears on Thursday afternoon. The Bears went up first but were no match for the Fighting Scots' hitting and defense. The Scots won 9-6.

How It Happened

• In the top of the first inning, the Bears put three runs across the plate to lead 3-0.
• Tyler Wilson cut into the lead as sent a run in to make it 3-1 in the bottom of the first. The Bears brought their lead back to three runs in the bottom of the third (4-1). 
• The Scots came to life in the top of the third. CJ Demers cranked a double RBI (4-2). Evan Clark sent in another run on a sacrifice fly. Then Jonathan McIntyre singled, sending two runners in to take the lead 5-4.
• Bats continued to crack in the fourth for the Scots. Hunter Normandin singled up the middle for ann RBI (6-4). A wild pitch later sent him in for a score (7-4). Then an Evan Clark double made it 8-4. To top off the inning, McIntyre singled to left center to extend the lead to 9-4.
• The Bears chipped away at the lead, scoring two more runs (9-6). However, Kevin Whalen put the game on ice as he struck out the Bears swinging.

• Jonathan McIntyre recorded a season high 3 RBIs.
• The Fighting Scots host Nichols College on Saturday, April 19 for a doubleheader.
