Gordon College Women's Track & Field hoisted the first ever Conference of New England (CNE) trophy this afternoon after compiling a team score of 175. This marks the second time in program history that the Fighting Scots have won the conference championship with the first being in 2022. The Hartford Hawks came in second (153), followed by Suffolk (122).
Friday
- Elizabeth Gaskill broke a three-year old record in the long jump with a distance of 5.27m to claim a gold medal. Rookie Anissa Lewis secured fourth with a jump of 4.86m.
- Two-sport student-athletes Eowyn Lapp booked fifth place in her CNE debut (31.67m), and fellow two-sport teammate Emily Bengtson was seventh with her throw of 30.26m.
- Sophomore sensation, Alivia Geraghty, continued to blow past the competition with a hammer throw of 49.98m for the top spot.
- Olivia Murch ran away with the silver medal in the steeplechase (12:14.37), followed by teammate Kaylee Bettez bronze medal time of 12:15.46.
Saturday-Track Events
- Gaskill, Amaris Goodwin, Jenna Lindsay, and Maya Drouillard teamed up to take gold in the 4x100m relay to kick off the day with a time of 49.41 for a new school record.
- In the 1500m, Rachel Brennan raced her way to first place with her golden time of 4:37.37 to beat her own school record set one year ago. Sophomore, Caroline Roberts also recorded a top-10 finish with a time of 5:03.90 to claim eighth.
- The gold and silver duo of Goodwin and Lindsay ran through the 400m dash with times of 58.04 and 1:00.34, respectively. Emily Bengtson crossed the finish just outside of medal contention to take fourth (1:01.57).
- Gaskill and Goodwin dominated the 100m dash with a photo finish needed to take the top-spot. Gaskill edged out her teammate for gold by .007.
- Carolyn Day worked her way to a silver medal in the 800m with a time of 2:21.22, while Roberts had the eighth best time (2:28.57).
- Rookie Joy Sefelino put together a time of 1:11.96 for fifth place in the 400m hurdles.
- The duo of Goodwin and Gaskill crossed the line in succession once again in the 100m with Goodwin coming away with the gold medal and Gaskill with the silver (25.34, 25.98). Lindsay made it three Scots in the top-five as the rookie booked a time of 26.65.
- Brennan collected her second gold of the afternoon with a conference meet record time of 17:14.56 in the 5,000m. Meanwhile, Day battled down the stretch for a well earned bronze medal thanks to her time of 18:03.66.
- In the final event of the afternoon, Bengtson, Gaskill, Sefelino, and Lindsay finished strong for a silver medal.
Saturday-Field Events
- Anissa Lewis's triple jump of 10.33m earned the rookie a silver medal in her championship debut.
- Lapp had a shot put toss of 9.97m to take ninth place.
