WENHAM, Mass.- The Gordon College field hockey team absorbed a 7-1 loss to Johnson & Wales (R.I.) to begin Conference of New England (CNE) play Saturday afternoon at the Brigham Athletic Complex.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Johnson & Wales tallied three goals in the first quarter to establish a 3-0 lead.
- After the visitors scored twice in the second period, Gordon got on the board late in the frame to cut the deficit to 5-1. Sarah Bourk (Barrington, R.I.) found the back of the net with less than a minute on the clock to collect her first marker of the season.
- The Wildcats added a pair of goals in the fourth to seal a 7-1 win.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Sarah Bourk (Barrington, R.I.) and Abbie Reynolds (Saint Albans, Maine) both registered one shot for the Fighting Scots.
- Netminder Allyson Stauffer (Lancaster, Pa.) posted 10 saves in the contest.
- Johnson & Wales finished with a 24-2 advantage in shots and a 7-4 edge in penalty corners earned.
