SALEM, Mass.- The Gordon College men's soccer team absorbed a 3-2 loss at Salem State Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Gordon grabbed a quick 1-0 edge with a tally in the ninth minute. Benny Simpson (Evergreen, Colo.) bagged his first goal of the season off of an assist from Alex Diaz (Revere, Mass.).
- The Fighting Scots stretched the gap to 2-0 with a strike in the 50th minute. Zach Hutt (Streetsboro, Ohio) collected his second marker of the year while Cortez Cardone (Villanova, Pa.) picked up an assist.
- Salem State got on the board in the 58th minute to trim the deficit to 2-1.
- The Vikings pulled even at 2-2 with a goal in the 65th minute.
- The home team snagged a 3-2 edge in the 83rd minute.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Benny Simpson (Evergreen, Colo.) fired a team-high eight shots, including five shots on goal, while Sylver Godines (New Braunfels, Texas) chalked up three shots on frame.
- Goalkeeper Riley Calemmo (Pocono Mountain, Pa.) finished with a career-high 10 saves in his fifth start.
- Both squads manufactured 17 shots on the night while Gordon owned a 5-2 advantage in corner kicks earned.
