WENHAM, Mass.- The Gordon College volleyball team claimed a 3-1 victory over the University of New England Wednesday evening at the Brigham Athletic Center to open Conference of New England play.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The visitors captured the opening set 25-21 to claim a 1-0 lead.
- Gordon responded with a 25-19 victory in the second frame to level the match at 1-1.
- The Fighting Scots edged the Nor'easters 30-28 in a closely-contested third set to seize a 2-1 advantage.
- Gordon prevailed 25-19 in the fourth to secure its first conference win of the year.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Haley Hutzler (Long Island, N.Y.) posted 21 digs, 16 kills, and three aces.
- Annie Zimmerman (Austin, Texas) notched 22 digs, and 14 kills on the night.
- Teagan Brideweser (Warwick, N.Y.) finished with a season-high 13 kills to go with four total blocks.
- Maria Clarabuch (Sant Cugat Del Valles, Spain) chipped in with eight kills while Morgan Bruner (Litchfield, N.H.) added seven kills.
- Annika Schmitt (Quincy, Mass.) racked up a career-best 50 assists to go with 10 digs.
- Amanda Pierce (Johnston, R.I..) collected 20 digs and Alexandra Burnett (Windham, N.H.) tallied 14 digs.
