WENHAM, Mass.- The Gordon College men's basketball team narrowly fell to the University of New England 93-91 in a key Conference of New England showdown at the Bennett Center Tuesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Gordon manufactured an early 13-point lead seven minutes into the contest, 26-13, as Brandon Swann (Venice, Fla.) splashed a trey.
- The University of New England rattled off a 17-0 run spanning five minutes to jump ahead 33-28 with 6:27 remaining in the first half.
- The Fighting Scots battled back to level the game at 45-45 with 15 seconds left in the opening frame on a layup by Ryan Brooks (Dudley, Mass.).
- The Nor'easters carried a 47-46 advantage into the halftime break after Adam Lux chalked up a bucket just before the buzzer.
- The visitors used a 7-0 run to snap an 83-83 deadlock with five minutes to go in regulation and seize a 90-83 lead with 3:46 on the clock.
- Gordon trimmed the gap to 90-88 with 40 seconds left to play as Ryan Brooks (Dudley, Mass.) sank a free throw.
- The University of New England stretched the margin to 93-88 late in the contest after converting 3-of-4 from the charity stripe.
- Despite a buzzer-beating three-pointer by Ryan Brooks (Dudley, Mass.), the Nor'easters escaped with a narrow 93-91 win.
