AUBURNDALE, Fla.- The Gordon College baseball team absorbed a pair of losses to Penn State Altoona Friday, falling 3-2 and 9-7.
GAME ONE
THE BASICS:

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Penn State Altoona tallied three runs in the bottom of the first inning to claim an early 3-0 lead.
- Gordon plated a pair of runs in the top of the sixth to trim the gap to 3-2.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Carter Shin (Brighton, Ontario) posted two hits, one run scored, and a stolen base.
- Tyler Wilson (Lynn, Mass.) landed two base hits.
- CJ Massella (Blue Bell, Pa.) finished with one base knock, one run scored, and one stolen base.
- Aaron Ferreira (Fall River, Mass.) added one hit and one RBI.
- Caleb Stuart (Chelmsford, Mass.) made his team-leading third start on the mound and Josh Thiero (Piscataway, N.J.) tossed six scoreless frames in relief.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Penn State Altoons chalked up one run in the top of the first to snag a 1-0 edge.
- Gordon responded with a run in the home half of the first inning to knot the contest at 1-1.
- The Lions manufactured three runs in the second to capture a 4-1 lead.
- The Fighting Scots answered with one run in the bottom of the frame to cut the deficit to 4-2.
- Penn State Altoona plated four runs in the third inning to extend its advantage to 8-2.
- The Lions picked up a run in the fifth to push their lead to 9-2.
- Gordon engineered a valiant comeback bid, producing five runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to narrow the gap to 9-7.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Tyler Wilson (Lynn, Mass.) finished with two hits, two RBIs, and a run scored.
- James Coats (East Northport, N.Y.) posted two hits, one RBI, and a run scored.
- Darren Clarke (Hopkinton, R.I.) registered two base knocks and drove in one RBI.
- Gabe Fales (Middleton, Mass.) chipped in with one hit, one RBI, two runs scored, and one stolen base.
- CJ Massella (Blue Bell, Pa.) added one base hit, one run scored, and a pair of stolen bases.
- Colby Galipeau (Charlotte, Vt.) tossed one inning in his first start on the bump. Matt Pancurak (Medford, N.J.) threw two innings of relief and recorded three strikeouts. Casey Watson (Chester, N.H.) worked two innings in his team-leading fifth appearance out of the bullpen and fanned two. Hunter Simpson (Prospect, Conn.) pitched two innings in his second outing of the spring and racked up four strikeouts.
