BEVERLY, Mass.- Freshman Santiago Diaz (Orlando, Fla.) of the Gordon College men's tennis team swept the Conference of New England weekly awards as he collected Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week honors, announced the league office Monday afternoon.

Diaz racked up a combined 8-0 record in four matches last week as the Fighting Scots posted a 3-1 record.

In singles play, Diaz rolled to four straight-set victories at the No. 2 position. He also partnered with Jeffrey Bodner (Moncton, New Brunswick) at the No. 1 doubles spot to claim four wins.

Gordon owns a 5-6 overall record with a 2-1 mark in conference competition. The Fighting Scots return to the courts March 25 for a road match at Colby-Sawyer.
