WEYMOUTH, Mass.- The Gordon College baseball team suffered a 12-2 setback to Wentworth Tuesday evening in the first Conference of New England (CNE) contest of the spring.
THE BASICS:

Records: Fighting Scots (4-10, 0-0 CNE) | Leopards (11-6, 1-0 CNE)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Wentworth grabbed a run in the top of the second inning to snag a 1-0 edge.
- Gordon responded with one run in the bottom of the fourth to knot the game at 1-1.
- The Leopards produced six runs in the fifth to claim a 7-1 advantage.
- Wentworth tacked on two runs in the top of the sixth inning to extend its lead to 9-1.
- The Fighting Scots plated one run in the home half of the sixth to cut the deficit to 9-2.
- The Leopards chalked up three runs in the ninth to push the margin to 12-2.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- CJ Massella (Blue Bell, Pa.) finished with one RBI and one hit.
- Gabe Fales (Middleton, Mass.) and Carter Shin (Burlington, Ontario) both tallied one base hit and one run scored.
- Tyler Wilson (Lynn, Mass.) and Adam Gracie (Swansea, Mass.) each chipped in with a base knock.
- Brett Moore (Gloucester, Mass.) threw 4.2 innings and registered five strikeouts in his second start of the season. Matt Pancurak (Medford, N.J.), Hunter Simpson (Prospect, Conn.), and Casey Watson (Chester, N.H.) all made relief appearances on the night.
