Baseball Posts 11-5 Victory Over Framingham State

WENHAM, Mass.- The Gordon College baseball team notched an 11-5 win over Framingham State in non-conference action at J. Tec White Field Wednesday.
 

THE BASICS:

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Gordon plated three runs in the bottom of the second inning to grab a 3-0 advantage.
  • Framingham State chalked up a run in the third to trim the deficit to 3-1.
  • The Fighting Scots tacked on a pair of runs in the home half of the third frame to push their lead to 5-1. Cam Wilbur (Dighton, Mass.) led off by belting his first collegiate home run before Adam Gracie (Swansea, Mass.) laced an RBI single later in the inning.
  • The Rams scored once in the fifth to trim the gap to 5-2.
  • Gordon produced three runs in the seventh and three runs in the eighth to stretch the margin to 11-2.
  • Framingham State manufactured three runs in the top of the ninth inning before the home team secured an 11-5 win.
     
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
  • Tyler Wilson (Lynn, Mass.) notched three hits and four runs scored.
  • Aaron Ferreira (Fall River, Mass.) posted three hits, one RBI, and one run scored.
  • Blake King (Easton, Maine) finished with three RBIs, two base knocks, two runs scored, and one stolen base.
  • Carter Shin (Burlington, Ontario) chipped in with a pair of hits, two RBIs, and one stolen base.
  • Adam Gracie (Swansea, Mass.) recorded two base hits and one RBI.
  • Josh Thiero (Piscataway, N.J.) pitched five innings and registered one strikeout in his fifth start of the spring. Caleb Stuart (Chelmsford, Mass.) tossed one inning and fanned two batters in his second relief appearance. Hunter Simpson (Prospect, Conn.) worked three innings to pick up his first save of the year.
 
ON DECK:
Gordon resumes Conference of New England action with a road game at Curry April 9.
