MILTON, Mass.- The Gordon College baseball team cruised to an 18-3 victory at Curry Thursday afternoon in a key Conference of New England showdown.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Curry captured a 1-0 edge with one run in the bottom of the second inning.
- Gordon exploded for nine runs in the top of the fourth to claim a 9-1 advantage.
- The Colonels plated one run in the home half of the fourth to trim the deficit to 9-2.
- The Fighting Scots added a run in the fifth before manufacturing seven runs in the sixth inning to widen the margin to 17-2. Gabe Fales (Middleton, Mass.) capped off the frame with his first homer of the season, a grand slam to drive in Carter Shin (Burlington, Ont.), Cael Smith (Junction City, Kan.), and Blake King (Easton, Maine).
- Curry picked up a run in the bottom of the sixth to narrow the gap to 17-3.
- The visitors tacked on one run in the seventh to cap off the scoring.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Gabe Fales (Middleton, Mass.) racked up five RBIs, three hits, and three runs scored.
- Aaron Ferreira (Fall River, Mass.) notched four RBIs, two hits, two runs scored.
- Tyler Wilson (Lynn, Mass.) posted three runs scored, two base knocks, one RBI, and a stolen base.
- Adam Gracie (Swansea, Mass.) finished with two hits, two RBIs, and one run scored.
- Blake King (Easton, Maine) added two RBIs, a pair of runs scored, one hit, and one stolen base.
- Brett Moore (Gloucester, Mass.) pitched six innings and registered eight strikeouts in his third start on the mound. Casey Watson (Chester, N.H.) hurled one scoreless inning of relief and fanned two batters.
