WENHAM, Mass.- The Gordon College baseball team placed three student-athletes on the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, as the organization released its 2026 CSC Academic All-District Team Tuesday. James Coats, Carter Shin, and Kevin Whalen were all recognized for the first time in their careers.

The Academic All-District program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes from NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom.

Coats appeared in 31 contests and started 29 games this spring. He notched 21 hits, 13 RBIs, and 13 runs scored.

Shin paced the squad with a .396 batting average to go with a .436 on-base percentage. He chalked up a program-record 59 base hits while adding 28 runs scored, 27 RBIs, and 10 stolen bases.

Whalen started eight games on the mound and made a pair of relief appearances while recording 14 strikeouts in 39.1 innings of action.

The Fighting Scots posted a 14-23 overall record to go with a 6-12 mark in the Conference of New England.
